At Stirling Methodist Church we aim to create an open, inclusive and friendly community where everyone is welcome no matter where they are on their faith journey. We are a small society with around 40 participating regularly in Sunday services and a range of other activities that are described elsewhere on this website. We welcome and celebrate the full range of human diversity whether of race, gender, sexuality, ability or economic status. We are committed to ensuring everyone finds a welcome among us.

Stirling Methodist Church is an eco-congregation: care for our planet Earth forms an essential part of our expression of faith in and beyond the church.  We aim to live sustainably, follow the way of peace, and seek justice for all.  We are much more concerned with ethical living than in prescribing what people believe, and we see the role of our church community to inspire one another on our journeys of faith, exploring together what it means to be God’s people in this day and age.

We live in challenging times and Stirling Methodist Church aims to be a beacon of hope for the world and, especially, for the community in which we are located.  The Build Better and Serve Stirling development project is transforming our building and enabling us to achieve these goals more effectively, particularly through the Community Hub that has been running since September 2025, offering a warm space, free soup and a bag oif food to take home.  Please see the Development Project and Events tabs for all the latest information.

The Methodist Church

Stirling Methodist Church is part of the Methodist Church of Great Britain. The Methodist Church was founded in the 18th century as a revival movement within the Anglican Church, led by John and Charles Wesley devoted to study, prayer and helping the needy. They were labeled "Methodist" because of the way they used "method" to go about their religious affairs. Today the Methodist Church is the fourth largest denomination in the UK, and comprises over 11m members worldwide.
